Loy Krathong: Music/Art 8

     Loi Krathong
[a] (Thai: ลอยกระทง, pronounced [lɔ̄ːj krā.tʰōŋ]) is a Siamese festival celebrated annually throughout the Kingdom of Thailand and in nearby countries with significant southwestern Tai cultures (Laos, Shan, Mon, Tanintharyi, Kelantan, Kedah and Xishuangbanna). The name could be translated as "to float a basket," and comes from the tradition of making Krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river. Many Thais use the Krathong to thank the Goddess of Water, the Hindu Goddess Ganga (river in Northern India), Phra Mae Khongkha (Thai: พระแม่คงคา

My inspiration for this is Loi Krathong which is used Thai Cultures, especially in festivals. I've made this artwork using an art style called Digital Mosaic Art. I used this arts/crafts because of its elegance and how people make it, I sadly can't make it in person, but I decided to sketch it digitally.

Process of making it:

1. I made the sketch of the reference I used. (reference links in the end)

2. I made the sketch using somewhat tile shapes to fit in the art style I used.

3. I made patterns in every part of the tile, especially the flowers, leaves, and background.

4. I coloured it following the reference colours used and putting highlights on each edge of the patterns.

This is my progress video and final artwork:
